NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS8 880) -- Police were searching for two teen boys on Monday in connection to the rape of a 12-year-old girl on a roof in East Harlem.

The girl was raped around 6:30 p.m. Sunday on a roof landing near East 112th Street and First Avenue at NYCHA's Jefferson Houses, according to police.

Her parents called 911 around 8 p.m. to report the incident to police. She was transported to a hospital, where she was in stable condition.

No arrests had been reported as of Monday, but police are searching for two males who fled. The girl said she did not know her attackers.

Crime scene detectives were reviewing surveillance camera footage from the Jefferson Houses on Monday amid the search.
