NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 23-year-old was stabbed while in the Times Square subway station on Saturday night, the NYPD said.
The stabbing occurred just after 9:10 p.m. near the staircase at 42nd Street and 8th Avenue, close to the A and C subway lines.
There was an apparent attempted phone robbery, during which the victim was stabbed, police said.
Two people were arrested at the subway station, ages 21 and 26, while three more got away, officials said.
Police said that the victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
