NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Nearly 150 fire and EMS personnel responded to battle a 3-alarm fire in Washington Heights on Saturday afternoon when three firefighters were injured.
The fire broke out at 1281 St. Nicholas Ave. at about 2:30 p.m., fire officials said.
The six-story building has a store on the first floor, listed as “3J’s Solutions Services,” but is mixed-occupancy. According to the FDNY, the fire broke out at the first-floor store.
Citizen App video from the scene shows the street lined with firetrucks and other first responder vehicles as the ladder on one truck is being employed.
During the operations, the FDNY said that three firefighters were injured in a partial collapse caused by the fire.
The nature of their injuries or condition was not immediately clear.
