NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Two subway riders were viciously attacked, including with brass knuckles, as they were mugged by a trio of robbers on a 7 train in Queens this week, police said Thursday as they released photos of the suspects.
The victims—two men, ages 30 and 28—were aboard a Flushing-bound train approaching the Roosevelt Avenue/74th Street station in Jackson Heights around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday when they were approached by three males.
The trio snatched a phone from the 28-year-old, brandished a knife and threatened to shoot both victims, police said.
A physical altercation broke out, during which one of the suspects pummeled the 28-year-old with brass knuckles, according to cops.
The victim was struck multiple times in the face with the knuckledusters, police said.
The robbers fled the train at the 74th Street stop. They were last seen walking northbound on 73rd Street.
The victims suffered minor injuries and were transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where they were in stable condition.
