NEW YORK -- With just over a month until the “Key To NYC Pass” begins to be enforced, some city businesses are already set to go.

Mayor Bill de Blasio last week announced that New Yorkers will now need to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination in order to enter indoor businesses including bars, restaurants, movie theaters and gyms.

The pass launches on Aug. 16 and will be enforced starting Sept. 13, according to the mayor.

De Blasio denoted 30 New York City businesses that are already requiring vaccination for entry — which includes your physical vaccine card, the New York State Excelsior Pass or the NYC COVID Safe App.

The mayor called the early adopters, most of which listed are in Manhattan, “public health heroes.”
