NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD on Friday announced the arrest of four teen girls accused of attacking a 71-year-old woman during an attempted robbery at a Brooklyn subway station on New Year's Day.

All four girls were arrested on Thursday morning.

According to police, a 14-year-old girl was charged robbery, assault and harassment. Two 15-year-old girls were charged with robbery, assault and harassment.

Additionally, a 13-year-old girl was charged with robbery, assault and harassment.

The attack happened after 6 p.m. in the vicinity of the Hoyt Street subway station in Downtown Brooklyn, authorities said.

The victim had just exited through the turnstiles when she was approached by the four teens, according to officials.

Acting in concert, the girls attempted to take the woman's bag and struck her.

After being unsuccessful in their attempts, the girls fled the subway to parts unknown.

The victim sustained minor injuries and EMS transported her to The Brooklyn Hospital Center in stable condition.
