NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man was struck and killed in Queens on Wednesday after he tried to stop two carjackers from entering his vehicle, the NYPD said.
A 43-year-old man was at the intersection of 85th Street and 25th Avenue at 3 p.m. when he saw two suspects attempting to break into his car, police said.
Upon his approach, the two suspects got into their own vehicle to flee the scene.
Police said that the victim held onto the suspect's car, a white BMW, as they tried to get away, but he was hit by the car. Officials are still searching for the suspects.
The victim was transported to Elmhurst Hospital and pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
