NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Five people, including two NYPD officers, were injured early Wednesday when a police cruiser crashed into two cars while responding to a robbery involving a U-Haul truck in Queens.

The collision happened just before 2 a.m. at Springfield Boulevard and North Conduit Avenue in Laurelton, just off the Belt Parkway.

The officers were searching for the U-Haul truck in connection with a nearby robbery when they crashed, police said.

Three civilians were hospitalized in stable condition. The two officers were also taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Later in the morning, police stopped the U-Haul truck and arrested nine people. Charges against them were pending on Wednesday.
