5-year-old girl shot at Bronx memorial for shooting victim

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 5-year-old girl was struck with a bullet near a memorial for a shooting victim in the Bronx Friday night, according to police.

The child was in a gold Nissan that was hit by gunfire by the memorial site on East 214th Street near Holland Street in Olinville just after 7 p.m., according to officials.

The child was reportedly struck in the back. Emergency responders rushed her to Montefiore Medical Center, and she is currently in stable condition.

Authorities believe the shooter fired from another car before speeding away.

Police have not yet made any arrest, and an investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
