NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Seven people were rescued after being stuck in an elevator on the 20th floor of the Empire State Building for nearly two hours on Thursday, the FDNY said.

A report alerted fire officials of the freight elevator stoppage at 6:10 p.m.

Fire crews arrived at the scene and removed all seven occupants from the stuck elevator by 7:55 p.m., officials said.

There were no injuries reported in relation to this incident.

It was not immediately clear what caused the elevator to get stuck.

A media contact for the Empire State Building did not immediately respond to 1010 WINS/WCBS 880's request for comment.

This is a developing story.
