NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Actor Selma Blair was arrested at JFK Airport on Sunday night after police said she became “physically abusive” during a flight from Los Angeles to New York.

The 54-year-old actor, best known for her roles in “Legally Blonde,” “Hellboy” and “Cruel Intentions,” allegedly punched one flight attendant and bit another, according to TMZ.

The Port Authority Police Department confirmed its officers responded around 11 p.m. to a call about “a physically abusive passenger aboard Delta Airlines Flight 938” at an arrival gate.

Blair was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for an evaluation, police said.

Two flight attendants also reported injuries, and one was taken to a hospital, according to police.

A Delta spokesperson said there was no operational impact to the flight, which landed ahead of schedule at JFK. The spokesperson also said they were unable to corroborate media reports that Blair attempted to open an aircraft door mid-flight.

“Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first,” the airline said.

The FBI is investigating the incident. In a statement, a spokesman for FBI New York, Sydney Kleinmann, said, “Yesterday, we were informed by our partners at Port Authority Police Department of a potential assault aboard a flight that arrived into JFK. As per long-standing DOJ policy, we do not comment on ongoing investigations.”

In a statement to several media outlets, a rep said Blair had a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct.

In recent years Blair has been an advocate for disability rights. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018. In 2023, she joined President Joe Biden at the White House to celebrate the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

In 2016, Blair apologized for making statements she regretted on a flight from Cancun to Los Angeles, saying that she mixed alcohol with medication, which made her black out.
