'Gossip Girl' actress Michelle Trachtenberg found dead in NYC apartment

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – “Gossip Girl” actress Michelle Trachtenberg was found dead in her Manhattan apartment on Wednesday, police said.

NYPD officers responding to a 911 call at 8 a.m. found the 39-year-old actress unresponsive inside her apartment at 1 Columbus Pl. in Lincoln Square.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

The NYPD said no criminality is suspected in her death and that the medical examiner will determine the exact cause.

Investigators believe she died of natural causes, sources told ABC News. She had reportedly been experiencing complications from a recent liver transplant.

Trachtenberg was also known for her roles in the show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and the 1996 Nickelodeon film "Harriet the Spy," as well as the 1990s Nickelodeon show "The Adventures of Pete & Pete."
