NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The alleged 21-year-old "trigger puller" in a Brooklyn drive-by shooting that killed 7-month-old Kaori Patterson-Moore on Wednesday will be charged with murder as police continue the manhunt for a second suspect, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced Thursday.

Amari Green was allegedly on the back of a moped at the intersection of Humboldt and Moore streets in South Williamsburg at about 1:20 p.m. when he fired multiple shots toward the southwest street corner, where multiple adults, strollers and children stood. In addition to a murder charge, Green also faces two counts of attempted murder.

The NYPD has identified the alleged driver in the shooting, who was last seen fleeing toward the Marcy Houses, but Tisch said the department would not yet name him.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said that the shooting may have stemmed from a beef between two rival gangs, and that law enforcement is investigating the possibility that Kaori's father was a target.

"Based on the geography, and where he was at that time, we're looking into that aspect," Kenny said.

"Every single child in this city deserves to grow up free from the threat of gun violence," Mamdani said at a press conference Thursday reporting record-low shootings and murders across NYC in 2026's first quarter. "Every parent in the city deserves the peace of mind that comes from knowing their children are safe when they leave home."
