NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to see other Democrats "have the stones" the Republicans do and pack the top court after conservative Judge Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed just a week shy of the election.
"Republicans do this because they don’t believe Dems have the stones to play hardball like they do," Ocasio-Cortez wrote on Twitter. "And for a long time they’ve been correct. But do not let them bully the public into thinking their bulldozing is normal but a response isn’t."
AOC, who represents parts of Queens and the Bronx, added that Democrats need to "expand the court."
If elected Biden has said he'd appoint a bipartisan commission to examine options for reforms, including term limits or allowing presidents to appoint a set number of Supreme Court judges.
Republicans however, tossed the Supreme Court filibuster which previously required 60 votes to confirm new justices.
