On Nov. 6 at 7 p.m., police said a suspect approached a cashier at the Family Dollar store on 455 Dumont Ave.

Cops said the man then took out a black firearm and demanded money from the register and their safe.

But police said the cashier refused, and asked the man to leave the store -- which he then did, fleeing in an unknown direction without any money.

The NYPD released a photo of the suspect Tuesday. He's described as a male with a medium complexion, last seen wearing a Yankee hat, a brown leather jacket, blue jeans, white sneakers and a black mask.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or on the Spanish line at 1-888-57-PISTA.
