NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD launched an investigation after an armored car was robbed in Queens Monday morning.
It happened at around 8:50 a.m. outside a Bank of America branch located at Linden Boulevard and 205th Street in St. Albans.
According to police, there were two security guards manning the car when they were approached by the robbers. One guard was a 62-year-old man who was armed. The driver was 33-years-old and was unarmed.
At least one suspect had a gun and the suspects stole the security guard's gun along with an unknown amount of cash before taking off westbound on Linden Boulevard in a Chevy.
