NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police arrested a man who allegedly kicked a 72-year-old grandmother down a Queens subway staircase in an unprovoked attack earlier this month.

Hector Cajamarca, 24, of Queens, was charged with assault on Wednesday for the March 1 attack at the Roosevelt Avenue/74th Street station in Jackson Heights.

According to police, the victim was walking up a staircase to the 7 train just after 11 p.m. when he kicked her, causing her to fall down the stairs.

She suffered bruising throughout her body and was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst.

“Everything hurts,” the victim told ABC7 after the attack.

She said she takes the subway to and from work but now has panic attacks when she enters the transit system.
