NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police have made an arrest in connection to a fatal hit-run crash that killed a pregnant woman in Brooklyn last month.

Chaquasia Pigford, 28, is facing several murder charges and other related charges including manslaughter, leaving the scene of an incident without reporting - resulting in death, unauthorized use of a vehicle, reckless driving, unlicensed operator and one-way violation.

The crash happened just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, during a fender-bender in the vicinity of Van Buren Street and Marcus Garvey Boulevard in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

According to the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad, 32-year-old Tiffany Cifuni was driving a 2021 Toyota 4Runner westbound on Van Buren Street when her vehicle was struck from behind by a 2016 Chevy Trax GA driven by Pigford.

Cifuni exited her vehicle and proceeded to walk towards the 2016 Chevy Trax GA when Pigford kept driving into oncoming traffic on Lafayette, striking several parked cars and dragging Pigford in the process before taking off on foot westbound on Lafayette Avenue.

EMS transported Cifuni to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings where she was pronounced dead.
