NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A woman set fire to a Pride flag emblazoned with the words “Make America Gay Again” outside the Little Prince restaurant in SoHo early Monday morning, according to police.
The fire spread, damaging the facade of the building, officials said. The restaurant didn’t suffer any structural damage and no one was injured by the fire.
Security footage showed the woman exited the passenger side of a white SUV around 1:35 a.m. in front of the Little Prince on Prince Street near MacDougal Street.
She lit the flag with a lighter and fled back into her vehicle.
The Little Prince’s official Facebook page posted an image of a new Pride flag hanging outside the restaurant captioned only with the word “Defiant.”
The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the incident.
