NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – At least 15 people were shot, one of them fatally, across New York City overnight Saturday, police said.
The 14 shootings in just over 12 hours took place in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. They left an 18-year-old man dead, another man in extremely critical condition and a former NYPD officer wounded.
The 18-year-old victim, identified as Jameik Bishop, was shot in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx around 11 p.m.
Police said Bishop was sitting on a stoop outside his house on E. 225th Street, near Bronxwood Avenue, when he was shot in the face, chest and right shoulder.
He was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center but did not survive.
Police sources said the victim had a long criminal record with possible gang connections.

Around the same time as the Williamsbridge shooting, a man was shot and critically injured in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
The man was stopped at a red light at Nostrand Avenue and Montgomery Street when another man came up to the passenger side of the vehicle and shot him in the chest, police said.
He was taken to Kings County Hospital in extremely critical condition.

Another man was shot while sitting in his vehicle in Flatbush around 11 p.m., according to police.
A man walked up to the vehicle and got into a dispute with the victim before shooting him multiple times, police said.
The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.
About a half hour later, around 11:30 p.m., a woman was shot outside a birthday party at a Tesla dealership on Van Brunt Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Police said the woman, who is believed to be a bystander, was shot while leaving the party.
Three men who were denied entry to the party started shooting, striking the woman in her stomach, police said.
The woman was taken to Methodist Hospital in stable condition.
Sources told the Daily News that the woman is a former NYPD officer who left the department a couple of years ago.
The 14 shootings with 15 victims Saturday compare to one shooting with one victim during the same day last year, according to the NYPD.
Since January, there have been 372 shooting incidents with 410 shooting victims (wounded or killed) in the city. That's compared to 210 shooting incidents with 238 victims over the same period last year.
