NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 72-year-old man was left with a broken nose after being violently attacked on a Hell’s Kitchen street on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The septuagenarian was in front of 660 West 42 St. near the West Side Highway at about noon on Tuesday when the suspect approached and picked a fight, officials said. It was not immediately clear what the argument was about.
The suspect—described by police as a man with a light complexion, medium build and black hair—further escalated the dispute by punching the victim in the face, police said.
Authorities said that after being struck, the older man fell to the ground and sustained substantial pain, bleeding and a fracture to the nose. Medics transported him to Mount Sinai West in stable condition.
Cops released a surveillance photo of the suspect on Wednesday in the hope someone recognized him.
