NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a suspect who they say attacked a woman in her apartment building and attempted to rape her.

The incident occurred on Sunday around 11:40 p.m. as the 23-year-old victim entered her building around 11th Street and 3rd Avenue in the East Village, authorities said.
The suspect pushed the woman into her apartment and attempted to sexually assault her. He then stole the woman’s wallet and fled the scene, according to cops.
