NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An attacker stabbed a man in the shoulder and hurled an anti-gay slur at him inside the Staten Island ferry terminal on Sunday, the NYPD said.
The 20-year-old man was inside the terminal around 8:45 p.m. when another man called him a f----- and stabbed him, police told the Daily News.
When a bystander tried to intervene, the attacker punched him in the face, the outlet reported.
Police took the 47-year-old attacker into custody not long after, according to the outlet. He was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and harassment, the outlet reported.
The 20-year-old man he stabbed was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the attack, according to the outlet.
