Baby girl found on subway staircase at Penn Station

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A baby girl was left on a subway staircase at Penn Station on Monday morning, police said.

The girl was discovered around 9:30 a.m. on a staircase leading to the northbound 1/2/3 platform at West 34th Street and Seventh Avenue.

She had been wrapped in a blanket and was conscious and alert, police said.

Emergency responders transported her to an area hospital, where she was in stable condition.

Police were investigating who left her on the staircase.
