Bike-mounted thieves snatching headphones off pedestrians' heads in Manhattan: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a pair of thieves who snatched headphones off of two different women’s heads and biked away.

Two people riding the same gray electric Citi Bike grabbed a 27-year-old woman’s headphones from her head on West Houston Street near Hudson Street around 5:28 p.m. on April 6, according to officials.

The headphones were valued at $549. No one was injured in the incident.

On Tuesday, less than a week after the first incident, the duo struck again on Park Avenue near 21st Street in the Flatiron District.

Two people, again riding the same gray Citi Bike, grabbed a 23-year-old woman’s headphones from her head before speeding off around 4:33 p.m., according to authorities.

Police estimated the value of this pair at $500. The victim was not injured.
