NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are investigating the death of a BMW driver who died in a car crash on a Queens expressway early Wednesday morning.
At approximately 1:12 a.m., police responded to a 911 call about a vehicle collision on the Nassau Expressway near Hangar Road in Springfield Gardens.
An investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad determined that just before the accident, 25-year-old Andre Beadle was driving a 2023 BMW sedan eastbound on the Nassau Expressway in the left lane at a high rate of speed.
Beadle, of the Bronx, allegedly lost control and veered to the right, causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the roadway into the right shoulder, striking a metal pole, officials said.
The impact caused the vehicle to veer back across the eastbound lanes to the left shoulder, ejecting Beadle from the vehicle.
EMS transported Beadle to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation remains ongoing.
