NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials are investigating after a woman's body was discovered floating at a beach in Brooklyn early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 4 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, officers were flagged down by a civilian regarding a body in the water near 1511 Brightwater Avenue in Brighton Beach.
Upon approach, officers observed an unconscious and unresponsive body floating in the water, the NYPD said.
The officers entered the water and retrieved the unidentified woman's body.
EMS transported the woman to NYC Health & Hospitals/Coney Island, where she was pronounced dead.
An investigation remains ongoing.
