NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A body was found floating near the Jamaica Bay shoreline on Friday morning, police confirmed.
The unresponsive man was discovered in the water near Beach 121st Street and Newport Avenue in Queens at about 7:35 p.m., officials said. Medics pulled him from the bay and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Authorities said that it appeared the body had been in the water for a long time, but it is not yet clear if the man was a victim of a crime.
The medical examiner will determine cause of death and an investigation is ongoing.
The discovery comes only two days after a woman's body was found in Forest Park.
