NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The body of a man was found floating in the water near the Throgs Neck Bridge on Sunday afternoon, police said.
Officers responding to a 911 call about the body at 12:30 p.m. discovered the man partially submerged in the East River off the Bronx.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS, according to police, who said the body was in an advanced state of decomposition.
The medical examiner will determine the man's cause of death.
His identity has been withheld pending the notification of his family.
