NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A rescue train had to pick up subway passengers Thursday morning after a person was found dead on train tracks near Grand Central Station—and one of the stranded passengers jumped from the train and ran down a tunnel during the rescue.
Officials told the Daily News that the body of the victim was spotted on the tracks around 7:30 a.m. as a Queens-bound 7 train was pulling into Grand Central.
Officials said it's unclear how the person died—preliminary reports suggested he or she had been hit, but the operator of the 7 train stopped before striking the body.

As stranded passengers were being put on a rescue train, one of them—said to be an emotionally disturbed man—jumped off the train and ran down the tunnel, according to the report.
The man was taken into custody by officers. It's unclear if he would be charged.
Citizen App video shows emergency responders outside the station in Manhattan. No injuries were reported.
The incident halted 7 train service between Queens and Manhattan around 7:40 a.m. Service resumed with "extensive delays" around 10 a.m.
