NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 12-year-old boy was arrested and charged with attempted murder in the stabbing of another child in Brooklyn a day ago, police said on Friday.
The suspect was taken into custody late Thursday night, hours after another 12-year-old boy was stabbed in the chest near Dumont Avenue and Thomas Boyland Street in Brownsville.
According to police, the suspect fled immediately after the attack. A knife was recovered from the scene, officials said.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition and is expected to live.
The circumstances that led to the stabbing weren't immediately clear.
The investigation is ongoing.
