NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 13-year-old boy was fighting for his life on Friday after he fell under a 7 train at a Queens station, apparently while subway surfing.

Witnesses told police the boy was subway surfing when he went under the train around 8:15 a.m. at the 111th Street station in Corona.

Police and EMS rushed to the scene and found him on the elevated tracks.

They rushed him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was in grave condition, police said.

The 7 line has been one of the most problematic lines for subway surfing in the city. PSAs are regularly aired on trains warning young people that riding outside train cars is dangerous and deadly.

At least six people were killed while subway surfing in 2024, officials said, including a 13-year-old girl who was also killed at the 111th Street station in October. Another girl was critically injured in that incident.
