NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are investigating a shooting at a basketball court where a 13-year-old boy was struck in the knee Thursday evening.
The shooting occurred at the Hunts Point Playground basketball court, near the intersection of Hunts Point and Spofford avenues, at around 5:40 p.m., according to officials.
The teen was rushed to an area hospital and is expected to survive, authorities said.
It is unclear if the teen was the intended target.
There have been no arrests made and police are looking into what led to the shooting.
The boy is the latest teen victim of gun violence in the city in recent weeks. On Wednesday night, two boys, ages 13 and 16, were shot and wounded at a restaurant in Harlem.
