NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police arrested a 15-year-old boy Thursday for fatally shooting his 14-year-old friend in the head at a Queens apartment.
The 15-year-old boy is facing charges including manslaughter and criminal possession of weapon as authorities call the incident reckless endangerment.
At first, detectives believed the fatal shooting was self-inflicted, but later learned that the 15-year-old pulled the trigger inside of the victim's apartment when he and several other teens were hanging out.
At about 5 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot at 161st Street in Jamaica.
Upon arrival, officers observed the teen with a gunshot wound to his head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
