
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 15-year-old boy was shot and wounded near Lincoln Center on the Upper West Side Thursday evening, police said Friday.
The victim was shot in the torso and grazed in the chest by multiple bullets shortly before 7:30 p.m. inside the NYCHA Amsterdam Houses on West 62nd Street.
He was taken to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was recovering.
The gunfire erupted less than a block west from busy Lincoln Center, which abuts the public housing development at Amsterdam Avenue.
No other injuries were reported.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting weren't immediately clear, including if the victim was a bystander or the intended target.
No arrests had been reported as of Friday.
