NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 17-year-old boy died at a hospital after he was shot in broad daylight near a Brooklyn subway station, police said Friday.
The yet-identified victim was gunned down at Chester Street and Livonia Avenue in Brownsville on Sunday afternoon, according to police.
NYPD officers responding to a 911 call found him with a gunshot wound to the head, about a block from the Rockaway Avenue 3 train station.
He was transported to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he later died, police said.
It's unclear why his death wasn't announced until Friday.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting weren't immediately known, and police have not identified any suspects as the investigation continues.
