NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is looking to identifying two men who put a Bronx livery cab driver in a chokehold and robbed him at gunpoint earlier this month, authorities said.
At around 9 p.m. on Sunday, November 6,, a 46-year-old male livery cab driver picked up the two suspects at 766 East 244th Street before dropping them off in the vicinity of Defoe Place and Dreiser Loop in Co-Op City, officials said.
According to police, the first suspect brandished a firearm and displayed it at the livery driver, while the second suspect placed him in a chokehold.
The first suspect attempted to grab the driver's car keys, but the driver accelerated his vehicle in an attempt to flee and crashed into a parked vehicle.
The suspects then forcibly stole $370 and the victim's bank cards before fleeing in an unknown direction.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
