Bronx carjacker takes off with boy, 7, in back seat: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 7-year-old was in the backseat of a vehicle that was carjacked in front of his parents in the Bronx on Thursday afternoon, according to police.

The carjacking happened just after 12:20 p.m. at 1540 MacDonough Pl. near Pelham Bay Park in Country Club.

The child's 34-year-old mother told police that she and her husband were outside of their Acura RDX when an unidentified man entered the car and fled with their son still in the back seat.

The vehicle and child were recovered at Tillotson Avenue and Wright Avenue near Co-op City.

The child was unharmed and EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacob for evaluation.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
