NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man was arrested Thursday for murdering his older brother, who was found dead in a plastic bag at a Bronx high-rise, police said Friday.

Jayson Dargan, 41, was cuffed at the scene and charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in the death of Timothy Dargan, 44.

The two brothers and their father lived in the same high-rise residential building in Concourse Village where Timothy Dargan's body was uncovered Thursday afternoon.

Sources tell 1010 WINS that Timothy Dargan was bludgeoned with a bowling ball and the murder happened several days before the body was discovered, prompting residents to complain about the smell.

Dargan's father checked on the apartment amid the complaints and discovered Timothy's body, sources say.

NYPD officers responding to a 911 call from 775 Concourse Village East found the victim inside a black bag.

He was unresponsive and suffering from head trauma, police said. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

The NYPD has yet to confirm how long he had been dead or the cause of death, and their investigation into the killing is ongoing.
