
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A police investigation is underway after a man, 18, was stabbed to death in Manhattan Friday night, the NYPD said.
At 10:41 p.m. on Friday officers responded to a 911 call and discovered an 18-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his chest, shoulder and arm at East 26th Street and Park Avenue South, in the Flatiron District, police said.
1010 WINS/WCBS 880 spoke with a man who witnessed the moments leading up to the stabbing. He says the victim was initiating an altercation.
“Right here in the middle of the street, he was screaming trying to pick a fight with these guys, calling them all sorts of names,” Christian Night said.
The victim was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue by EMS but succumbed to his injuries, authorities reported.
Police confirmed Saturday morning that Denzel Bimpey, of the Morrisania section of the Bronx, was the victim.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
