NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A Bronx man was arrested and charged on Saturday for fatally shooting a man he lived with the night before, according to the NYPD.

Brandon Austin, 29, was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree aggravated manslaughter and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon after he was arrested at 2:50 p.m.

At 5:57 p.m. on Friday police responded to 1825 Topping Ave., near East 176th Street in the Mount Hope section, and found 37-year-old Marcus Henderson with a gunshot wound to his right leg.

Henderson was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, authorities said.

A person of interest was in custody by Friday evening, according to police.

Police listed both Austin and Henderson’s addresses as the scene of the crime, but it was not immediately clear how they knew each other.
