Bronx mugger on moped rips chain off 5-year-old boy's neck

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are on the hunt for a mugger on a moped who is wanted after ripping a 5-year-old boy’s chain off his neck in the Bronx over the weekend.

It happened just before 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, when the boy was walking in front of 2565 Marion Ave. in Fordham Manor.

According to officials, the boy was approached by the suspect on a moped who then snatched the chain from his neck and fled northbound on Marion Avenue to parts unknown.

The boy sustained redness and swelling to his neck and was treated on scene by EMS.

The suspect was last seen wearing a multicolored hat, a black jacket, and black jeans.
