NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A customer shoved a fried chicken restaurant's cash register onto the floor after threatening to attack an employee and demanding food, the NYPD said Wednesday.
The man walked into a Crown Fried Chicken on Sutter Avenue, near Alabama Avenue, in New Lots, Brooklyn around 10:40 p.m. on Dec. 27 and got into an argument with a 34-year-old employee, police said.
At some point during the argument, the man demanded food and threatened to attack the employee, the NYPD said.
Not long after, he smashed a plastic partition on the eatery's counter and shoved the cash register onto the floor, damaging the counter, police said.
The man fled the restaurant on foot after the incident, the NYPD said. The employee refused medical attention at the scene.
