NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Brooklyn father was arrested this week in the death of his four-month-old son in a suspected case of shaken baby syndrome, police said Friday.

Donnie Reuben, 25, was arrested last Wednesday in the death of his son, Men'Dece Reuben.

He was charged with reckless assault on a child, assault on a person less than 7 years old and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17 years old.

NYPD officers responding to a 911 call around 2:25 a.m. last Tuesday found the boy unconscious at the family’s apartment on Crown Street, near Schenectady Avenue, in Crown Heights.

EMS rushed the infant in critical condition to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. He died Monday, six days after being hospitalized.

The medical examiner found he died of head trauma and ruled his death a homicide. Investigators believe it’s a case of shaken baby syndrome, police said.

Since the boy's father was arrested before his death, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office will decide whether to pursue additional charges.
