E-bike rider attacked by baseball bat-wielding mob in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released surveillance footage of four suspects accused of beating an e-bike rider with a bat in Brooklyn earlier this month, authorities said.

It happened just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, a 25-year-old man was on his e-bike in the vicinity of 60th Street and 8th Avenue in Sunset Park.


According to officials, suspects where in two vehicles behind him engaged him in a conversation to get him to pull over.

When the victim was stopped at a red light, the group exited the vehicles and a physical altercation ensued.

The suspects then began to strike the victim multiple times with a baseball bat and a garbage can and fled the location in two vehicles: a dark colored BMW four-door sedan with unknown New Jersey plates that went eastbound on 60th Street, and a silver Mercedes Benz four-door sedan with unknown plates that went southbound on 8th Avenue.

The victim sustained a broken arm and injuries to the face and EMS transported him to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in stable condition.
