NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police charged a 44-year-old Brooklyn father for the overdose death of his 10-month-old daughter.
Daniel Auster, the son of renowned author Paul Auster, faces charges of manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide after his daughter overdosed on a combination of heroin and fentanyl.
It's not clear how she ingested the substances, but she was found unconscious in Auster's Park Slope home on Nov. 1 and later died at a nearby hospital.
Auster was slated to be arraigned on Saturday, but the New York Post reported he was suddenly brought to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital Saturday night for treatment — delaying his arraignment to Sunday.
