
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Brooklyn public high school teacher was arrested for strangulation on Tuesday following an incident with a student, according to the NYPD.
It happened at the High School of Sports Management located at 2630 Benson Ave. in Gravesend.
Gary Zeng, 27, was arrested and charged with strangulation, criminal obstruction of breathing, endangering the welfare of a child, and assault.
"This alleged behavior is completely unacceptable, and nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of our students, The Department of Education said in a statement. "This employee has been reassigned away from students pending the outcome of the arrest, and if convicted, we will pursue termination."
