
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An 85-year-old woman was found dead after a fire ripped through her third-floor apartment in Brooklyn on Friday morning, authorities said.
The victim was inside her apartment at 1528 Bedford Ave. in Crown Heights when the fire broke out just before 8:15 a.m., according to the FDNY.
Sixty firefighters and EMS personnel responded to her four-story building.
She was still in the apartment when she was found dead by first responders, police said.

The victim hasn’t yet been identified as her family is notified.
The medical examiner will determine her cause of death.
The fire was brought under control shortly after 8:45 a.m., the FDNY said. The fire marshal is investigating its cause and origin.
