NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police released photos on Friday of a fraudster wanted for tricking a Brooklyn woman into paying him $40,000 earlier this week.
The fraud was reported on Monday, Feb. 24, around 2:50 p.m. near Avenue L and Ocean Avenue in Midwood, when the 66-year-old victim received an email claiming her account was involved in fraudulent activity.
She was then deceived into paying $40,000 in cash to resolve the alleged fraud to an unidentified suspect, cops said.
The suspect later met with the victim, took the cash, and fled in a 2025 silver Hyundai Tucson.
An investigation is ongoing.
