NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A burglar climbed up a Manhattan woman's fire escape and tried to break into her apartment through her kitchen window — but fled when she heard him, the NYPD said Friday.
A surveillance camera outside the 36-year-old woman's apartment building near West 130th Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem captured the man climbing up the fire escape.

When the woman heard the man trying to get into her apartment and went to investigate, however, the man made his way back down the fire escape and fled, police said.
